The platform
Every handoff. One clear workflow.
Move from disconnected tasks to a process your team can see, manage and improve. OnboardConnect connects student records, accounts and campus systems.

A four-page guide to SIS connections, Active Directory automation, campus access and setup requirements.
01 / The platform
Built around your campus.
Arrange steps in the visual workflow builder, map the data each step needs and define success and failure paths. Follow execution with run history and step outcomes.
- Filter and transform incoming records.
- Run workflows on demand or through configured triggers and schedules.
- Branch on success and failure, add wait steps and send notifications.
- Inspect execution results and cancel runs when needed.
02 / The platform
Three directories, one lifecycle.
Use the directory actions that fit your environment. Available actions differ by platform; your team selects connections and permissions for each step.
- Active Directory: create, update, activate, deactivate and delete users; set passwords; manage security groups, distribution lists and OU placement.
- Microsoft Entra ID: manage users, passwords, groups and license assignment through Microsoft Graph.
- Google Workspace: create and update users, activate or suspend accounts, set passwords and manage group membership.
03 / The platform
Account standards, set once.
Provision Rules hold the conventions every account follows. Account, password and group steps for Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Google Workspace can draw on them, so each workflow applies the same policy instead of its own script.
- Username formats built from tokens such as first, middle and last name or student ID, including partial values like the first letter, with a case setting and your UPN domain.
- Five ways to resolve duplicate usernames: grow the first-name prefix, append a number, append initials, insert the middle name or append the middle initial.
- Long names shortened automatically to fit the 20-character Active Directory limit.
- A password policy for new accounts: length, required character types, allowed symbols and a change at first sign-in. Self-service resets follow the same policy.
- Security group rules with conditions on any Slate field (is, contains, starts with, in a list, is empty and more). Every matching rule applies, so a student can join several groups.
- Distribution list rules for on-premises Active Directory, using the same conditions.
04 / The platform
Go beyond account creation.
Connect the systems around the student record. Agent-managed integrations bring local resources into the same workflow.
- SIS read and write steps for Ellucian Banner and Colleague (through Ellucian Ethos), Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and Workday Student.
- SQL Server create, read, update and delete operations through configured agent profiles.
- Slate Query Service reads, Source Format writeback and file upload/download over HTTPS.
- Read and write local files through the agent; send email, Slack or Microsoft Teams, SMS (through your own Twilio account) and webhook notifications.
05 / The platform
Keep daily support in view.
Give administrators a place to find users, review activity and manage account access.
- Use Record Management to choose searchable attributes, list and detail fields, and the connection that handles each account action.
- Enable a branded self-service password reset portal with recovery verification.
- Manage staff roles and permissions, review audit logs and inspect run outcomes.
- Monitor on-premises agent status and revoke agents from the portal; set allowed commands in each agent’s local interface.
